One of these things is not like the other #1

Three are fabulous, delightful, diverse individuals who own who they are.

One is a throwback religious fanatic who uses his faith to trample on individuality and tout hateful rhetoric.

Mike Pence likes to hide his homophobia behind sneaky regulations. From a New York Times article on Mike Pence and Legislation:

“behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus”

What do you suppose he means by that?

In a Time magazine article it outlines Mike Pence on gay rights:

“In 2006, as head of the Republican Study Committee, a group of the 100 most-conservative House members, Pence rose in support of a constitutional amendment that would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman. Citing a Harvard researcher, Pence said in his speech, “societal collapse was always brought about following an advent of the deterioration of marriage and family.” Pence also called being gay a choice and said keeping gays from marrying was not discrimination, but an enforcement of “God’s idea.” “

The intersection of gender boundaries isn’t new but has been thrust into a negative spotlight by intolerance and ignorance. Our individuality should be embraced not demoralized. As those in power write legislation threatening the freedoms of people just because of their sexual orientation, I wonder why some in the cisgender population strive to delegitimize others.

I stand with the LGBTQ community.

Exist and Resist!
