The South Dakota landscape owns a special kind of silence, wide and endless, a package of time oblivious to people.
The prairie celebrates hardship and embraces the scars left by erosion.
When left in the silence, time devours fences and barns, old cars and roads, turning metal to rust, buildings to dust.
Oh I love South Dakota. The Bad Lands were my favorite spot to sit in the silence.
